In-House Swallow Movement: A Milestone in Chinese Horology
At its heart beats the fully in-house Swallow tourbillon movement, independently designed, developed, and manufactured by Beijing Watch. Delivering 60 hours of power reserve, a 21,600 vph beat rate, and supported by 20 jewel bearings, it reflects decades of technical evolution. This movement is not only mechanically accomplished—it represents one of the defining breakthroughs in the history of modern Chinese watchmaking.
Three Technical Signatures of the Swallow Tourbillon
The Swallow flying tourbillon stands apart through three defining innovations: a cantilevered flying structure that creates a floating visual effect, a hand-adjusted free-sprung hairspring for long-term precision, and the iconic swallow-shaped carriage inspired by auspicious Eastern symbolism. Composed of 127 precision parts and weighing little more than a feather, it embodies both technical lightness and profound cultural depth.
30th Anniversary Case Back: A Tribute in Form
The exhibition case back features a metal medallion engraved with the numeral “30.” Cleverly designed, the “3” echoes the graceful Swallow swallow motif, while the “0” mirrors the circular tourbillon cage itself. This symbolic composition transforms the anniversary number into a design language of movement and heritage—an elegant homage to Master Xu’s pioneering craftsmanship.
